'Flat-Sided' O-Ring Problems
I get several calls each year with problem descriptions something like this:
My PTE won't eject a tool for the first several hours of each day (or after a weekend shutdown); however, it suddenly begins working OK, and then its fine for the rest of the day.

The History of the Lucas Machine Company
Manufacturers of the World Famous
Lucas Horizontal Boring, Milling and Drilling Machine

Typical Machine Foundations & Hardware
Most Lucas boring mills build after 1950 were designed to be installed on a foundation to provide mechanical support for the machine. As impressive as the main bed castings are on a typical Lucas, they are NOT a 'self-supporting' structural element. If a machine is supported only at the four corners, it is astonishing how much the castings will visibly bend from their own weight.

Used Machine Extraction Check-off List
This reminder list should be used when moving a Lucas Machine from one site to another. It is particularly valuable in assisting a new owner to secure all of the 'parts' of a machine he has just purchased. The list may not be totally complete for any given machine (since so many models and variations of Lucas Machines exist), and is primarily intended to provide a 'starting point'.
NOTE: If the original owner has (or had) more than one Lucas Machine, check for the correct serial number on ALL of the items listed.
